When I visited Amsterdam on a European cruise, I only had one day to explore the city.

With limited time and traveling as a wheelchair user, I wanted an experience that would let me see as much as possible — and a canal cruise was the perfect choice.

After researching my options in advance, I booked a wheelchair accessible Amsterdam canal boat tour with Blue Boat Company, one of the few operators offering fully accessible boats.

Their dock, located near the Hard Rock Café and Rijksmuseum, features step–free access, ramps, and a lift to board the boat comfortably.

Once onboard, I could choose to sit inside at a table or outside at the back of the boat, both of which accommodated my wheelchair.
