Kenya Safari Testimonials – May & July 2026
We hosted two incredible Wheelchair Accessible Kenya Safaris in May and July 2026. Each 12-day journey explored the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli National Park.
The tours were designed for wheelchair users, travelers with limited mobility, and those who prefer a slower pace of travel. Participants experienced incredible wildlife encounters and traveled in accessible safari vehicles adapted for mobility needs.

“In mid‑May 2026, we went on a wonderful Accessible Safari with the partnership of Two Empty Passports and Lorna Safaris, and the experience exceeded every expectation. Robyn from Two Empty Passports provided continuous updates and suggestions, packing lists, instructions on how to submit for our Visas, leading up to our Safari. Robyn hosted zoom calls for us to meet our fellow travelers and ask question we had going into the safari. That put a lot of our concerns to rest.
Accessibility was clearly a priority from start to finish. Every accommodation and every vehicle was thoughtfully prepared. Lorna Safaris has worked closely with the safari camps they use to ensure accessible rooms, attentive staff, and smooth logistics. They even know where all the accessible restrooms are along the routes! Their modified safari van with a lift seat, additional vans with ramps, and the custom wooden boxes they’ve built for easier entry made getting in and out of the vehicles simple and stress‑free. You must be able to transfer to a safari van seat.
Our guides were exceptional. Their knowledge of wildlife and local culture added so much depth to each game drive. Across our three destinations—Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli—we saw an incredible variety of animals. We witnessed lions feeding on multiple kills, watched lions climbing trees, and even saw a mating pair of lions. The sheer number of elephants in Amboseli was unforgettable, and the rhinos and giraffes at Lake Nakuru were a highlight.
Our balloon ride over Masai Mara was awesome, something I didn’t think was possible with my limited mobility. The Balloon ride does require you to stand for the hour flight, but you can lean against the basket.
We highly recommend this tour for anyone with limited mobility. The attention to detail and genuine care made this one of the most enjoyable trips we’ve ever taken. My wife even said it was her favorite vacation of all time. You won’t regret taking this trip—this safari truly exceeded all our expectations.”

“I had wondered whether traveling to Kenya on an accessible safari would truly meet my needs as a wheelchair user, but those concerns quickly disappeared. From the accessible accommodations and transportation to the thoughtful attention throughout the journey, I felt that accessibility was genuinely a priority.
The wildlife was, of course, incredible. We saw lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, rhinos and so many other animals in their natural habitat. But some of my most memorable moments came from simply experiencing Kenya itself — traveling by jeep through the countryside, seeing villages and communities along the way, and watching everyday life unfold outside the window.
Judy and the Lorna Safaris team were exceptional. Their kindness, humour, knowledge and willingness to help made such a difference. When an accessibility issue arose at our lodge in Amboseli, Judy and her team worked with the hotel to find a solution, and the entrance was improved by the very next day. That kind of responsiveness made me feel confident that if a problem arose, someone would work to solve it.
For someone who navigates life from a wheelchair, being able to travel to Africa once again and have such a remarkable experience is something I owe entirely to Robyn, Gavin and Two Empty Passports. “In July 2026, I traveled with Robyn and Gavin on an African safari in Kenya. It was the trip of a lifetime! There are simply not enough words to describe the adventure, beauty, and incredible sights. Learning about Kenya’s history and way of life was amazing.
The entire trip was handled with precision. Robyn and Gavin did a wonderful job attending to everyone’s needs, ensuring everyone was comfortable and had a great time. Their collaboration with Lorna Safaris made the experience accommodating for everyone, and the guides were knowledgeable and exceptional at sharing information.
The lodges were very comfortable and exceeded my expectations. The accommodations were even better than I anticipated.
The ability to see nature at its best is something I will never forget. Even though I took some great pictures, there is nothing that compares to actually being there and experiencing the wildlife firsthand. And, of course, Robyn and Gavin were a big part of making the experience so special!
I was even able to overcome my fear of heights and do the hot air balloon ride. I’m so glad I did — watching the sunrise from the air was unforgettable.
During our downtime between game drives, our group had lots of opportunities to interact and get to know each other. Gavin was even helpful in keeping score for our various games. We couldn’t argue with a math teacher about the scores! 😊 At one point, I think we had 10 people playing a game. It was so much fun that I’m surprised we didn’t get kicked out of the hotel!

Banff Getaway Testimonials – April 2026
In April 2026, Judy, Bill, and Kathy joined our Accessible Banff Getaway, designed for wheelchair users and travelers who enjoy exploring at a slower pace.
During the trip, they experienced iconic Banff attractions including the Banff Gondola, historic Fairmont hotels, wildlife viewing, and accessible restaurants.
All three travelers had previously joined our Accessible Switzerland Tour, so we were delighted to welcome them back for another adventure.

“I had a wonderful tour of the Banff area with Two Empty Passports. Robyn and Gavin had checked out all of the local sights for accessibility, and while we were a small group (5 of us) we were able to visit both the Fairmont Hotels, go for optional early morning drives to look for wildlife, and even go up the Banff Gondola. We ate at some great accessible restaurants too.
The hotel room was fully accessible, and we had two vehicles, one which could accommodate our 2 wheelchairs, available for use.
Banff can be expensive and crowded in the summer, but being there in the shoulder season meant lower lodging prices and still seeing a lot of snow on the beautiful mountains all around us.
This was my second Two Empty Passports trip (the first was in Switzerland) and I already have booked two more.”

“Both Robyn and Gavin made everything enjoyable, even when they weren’t feeling their best.
They made all the right choices when it came to the hotel, restaurants, activities, sights, and scenery. We were especially lucky that they were able to move the Banff Gondola visit to a picture-perfect day.
The walking tour was nice, although the guide could have used a few pointers on leading a group with mobility challenges. The Fairmont was lovely, and high tea was so much fun.
The early morning wildlife drives were peaceful and memorable. I’m so glad I made the effort to get up and go. Bill joined a couple of the drives but decided to sleep in on the third one.
We also appreciated the downtime built into the itinerary. The slower pace isn’t for everyone, but I found our trip to Banff relaxing and refreshing.
We loved being so close to the mountains, with beautiful scenery everywhere we turned. I know we wouldn’t have seen or experienced half the things we did without Robyn’s research and careful planning.
