Although technically a city, we had to include The Hague in this list.

Known as ‘Den Haag’ in Dutch, it is the country’s political heart, housing the Dutch Parliament, the International Court of Justice, and the International Criminal Court.

Just like neighboring Germany, The Hague adds a unique historical and cultural flavor to any trip in the Netherlands.

But there’s more to The Hague than politics.

The city’s allure lies in its stunning blend of old and new.

The narrow, winding streets and old Dutch houses of the historic center are a stark contrast to the futuristic architecture in newer parts of the city.
